cancerously:

Chris Pratt worked with Marvel and Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to arrange a special screening of Guardians of the Galaxy for patients, families and staff at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Wednesday. While the movie played, Pratt snuck out and dressed up as his character, Star-Lord. He spent more than three hours in full costume and handed out movie-themed toys. Pratt also visited patients in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, and the Pediatric ICU, as they were too sick to join the movie screening that afternoon.

Pratt spent extra time with one patient, Dylan Prunty, who is a longtime Lego fan and recognized the actor’s voice from The Lego Movie. They spent about 10 minutes reciting different scenes from the film.

I was reading another article about this, and the whole thing gets better:

"The best part about this charming act of charity is that Pratt did it true to Star-Lord’s M.O., mixing something good with something bad. "A bit of both," if you will. See, the reason Pratt was able to swagger into the Children’s Hospital in full Star-Lord regalia was pretty outlaw. He stole it.

If you go to the link you can watch an interview in which he admits to stealing it. In his defense, he says it was “so that he could bring this movie hero into the lives of kids in need of a role model.”

How great is Chris Pratt tho.

Major Lorne, you handsome bastard

dani2theela, have you seen this?

johnspuddlejumper
Every time I watch this scene I am reminded of how much I can handle Major Lorne in civil clothes. To put it simply: I can’t.
And just notice the look on his face when he’s painting. He’s happy and relaxed.

I have to say that agree. The first time I was so pleasantly surprised and every time I still am. And it’s not just the clothes. He’s living a sci-fi and fantasy artist’s dream of actually getting paint a view like that.

This is something I admire about him and it has increased after I bought the audio book “Impression” with him in it. You get to know more about his artist side, how he sees Atlantis and the difference in planets and how he appreciates everything around him. That’s completely different from what you get in the episodes and I just love it. It’s also completely unique compared to the other characters.I can’t say it enough, but that makes him even more attractive.

Is that based on the books? I never got around to reading those. They are on a loooong list of books I want read.

Not to mention with the audio books you get to listen of over an hour of Kavan talking. And his voice is just beautiful.

”It took me 10 years to be ready for this. I’ve got a pretty good foundation of friends and family that will always keep me grounded no matter what. But I don’t think I would have been ready for it 10 years ago. So I’m really happy with the way it worked out. You need to learn how to do this. You need to learn how to keep your cool, learn how to be a leader on set, learn how to act. F—-, I still know I’ve got a ton to learn. It’s all a learning experience. I’m going to school every day.” [x]
